Scientists for Communities with Toxic Water

This project centers on drinking water policies through analyzing how societies assess the drinkability of their water. Stemming from one or more communities requesting such intervention, an interdisciplinary team of researchers and community organizations will unpack the balance between the chemical theories, technological possibilities, cost/benefits analysis, available data on health impacts, economic ideologies, and political influences that have historically merged into the set of numbers that prescribe permissible limits on water quality and thus the water that people eventually drink.
